Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ClaudeCodeTips (“we,” “us,” or “the service”), accessible at claudecodetips.xyz, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the service. By using ClaudeCodeTips you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
We are designed to operate with minimal personal data. By default, you use ClaudeCodeTips as an anonymous user without an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or other contact details.
a) Anonymous session data
When you complete the onboarding quiz, we create an anonymous session identifier (UUID) via Supabase Auth. This identifier is stored in your browser and on our servers so that your progress persists across visits. It is not linked to your real identity unless you later choose to link an account.
b) Interaction data
We record the tips you view, your swipe actions (save, know, hard, back), time spent per tip, XP earned, streaks, and level-up history. This is used to personalize your feed and measure content quality.
c) Quiz answers
We store your answers to the initial 3-question quiz to assign a starting skill level and personalize subsequent recommendations.
d) Analytics & telemetry
We use PostHog to capture product analytics events such as page views, session starts, tip views, swipes, level-ups, and aggregated performance metrics. These events may include approximate geolocation derived from your IP, browser and device information, and referral source.
e) Server logs
Like most web services, our infrastructure providers automatically log request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp, path, status code) for a limited period to help diagnose issues and detect abuse.
2. How we use your information
We use the data described above to:
- operate, maintain, and improve the service;
- personalize the tip feed and level progression to your skill level;
- compute and display your streak, XP, and level history;
- monitor usage patterns and content quality at an aggregate level;
- detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents; and
- comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK users)
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following lawful bases: (a) legitimate interests in operating and improving the service and protecting it from abuse, and (b) performance of a contract with you to provide the requested functionality. Where required, we also rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by ceasing to use the service and clearing your browser storage.
4. Third-party services (sub-processors)
We use the following third-party services to operate ClaudeCodeTips. Each processes data on our behalf under its own privacy terms:
- Supabase — authentication, PostgreSQL database, and session storage.
- Vercel — web hosting, edge network, serverless function execution, and request logging.
- PostHog — product analytics, event capture, and feature flags.
- Anthropic — when administrators use internal tooling to generate draft tips, prompts and generated content may be sent to the Anthropic Claude API. No user session data is sent.
5. Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising cookies. We use localStoragein your browser to persist your anonymous session, tip history, XP, and streak data so that your progress survives refreshes and revisits. Supabase Auth uses a small session cookie for authenticated requests. PostHog may set its own first-party cookies or use localStorage to deduplicate events and identify return visits in an anonymous way. You can clear this data at any time using your browser's site-data controls.
6. Data retention
Anonymous session data, interactions, XP, and streak data are retained for as long as the associated session remains active, or until you clear your browser storage or request deletion. Aggregated analytics retained by PostHog follow PostHog's retention policy. Server logs are retained for a short operational window (typically 30 days). We may retain certain data longer where required by law or for legitimate legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- access to a copy of the data we hold about you;
- correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”);
- restriction or objection to certain processing;
- data portability; and
- withdrawal of consent at any time.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.
8. Children's privacy
ClaudeCodeTips is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International data transfers
Our infrastructure providers operate globally, and your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, transfers out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by our sub-processors.
10. Security
We rely on industry-standard security practices from our infrastructure providers, including TLS in transit, encryption at rest, and row-level security in the database. However, no system is completely secure. If you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the service or via other reasonable means.
